Conference registration and the welcome reception will be held in the Deaprtment of Earth Sciences and the Sedgwick Museum respectively.
The scientific parts of the meeting will be held in Gonville & Caius College, University of Cambridge, right in the heart of Cambridge in Trinity Street.
Founded in 1348, Gonville and Caius, often referred to as just ‘Caius’ (pronounced Keys) is the fourth oldest Cambridge college with a rich history.
Talks will be held in the Bateman Auditorium, a tiered lecture hall with seating capacity for just over 100 participants and adjacent rooms for tea and coffee breaks
The Welcome Reception in the evening of 5th September will be held in the Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences, located in Downing Street (less than 10 minutes walk from the College).
Food & Drink
The registration fee covers the Welcome Reception in the Sedgwick Museum (5th), one lunch (6th), Poster session with refreshments (7th) and all tea and coffees. The Banquet (8th) requires an additional payment. The remaining lunches and dinners are self-foraging at local cafes, sandwich outlets, pubs and restaurants. The organizing team and helpers will be pleased to offer suggestions.
The Banquet will be held on the evening of Friday 8th September and we hope that this event will be a fitting end to the Conference. It will be held in the splendid Main Hall at Gonville & Caius College. A four course meal with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, will be preceded by an al fresco drinks reception in one of the historic courts (inside if raining). The ticket price is £80 per head and accompanying guests are welcome. Please specify ticket numbers on the payment form, as well as dietary preferences for all attendees on the registration form.
